SOCIETY I TRUST RUNNING THE SCHOOL
19. Role/Aims of Society/Trust
1. The Society / Trust running the school has a critical and key role to play in providing a good and
healthy climate to the school to fulfil its aim and objects, to enable the staff provide quality
education and to be a centre for educational excellence. To achieve this aim, the role and
responsibilities of the Society/ Trust are defined as under:
i) It should ensure that the school gets proper land, building equipment, furniture and
qualified staff at least as per norms of the Board.
ii) It shall ensure that the school is run as a community service and not as a business and
that commercialization does not take place in the school in any shape whatsoever.
iii) It shall ensure that the funds accruing from the school are spent for the benefit of the
school and for its expansion.
iv) It shall safeguard the autonomy of the Principal and provide him total support except
when the Principal goes against the established and clear directives laid down by the
management.
v) It shall have control over the school management committee and shall approve the
budget/tuition fees and annual charges etc., for the school.
vi) It shall have control over any capital expenditure i.e., on land and the construction of
building, its expansion and procurement of major equipments for the school.
vii) It shall generate funds for the needs of the school whether it is recurring or nonrecurring.
viii) It shall ensure that the school has the basic essential facilities such as Laboratory
equipment, equipment; for games and sports and other co-curricular activities, Library
books etc.
ix) It shall have the powers to constitute Selection Committee/Departmental Promotion
Committees for various categories of staff.
x) It shall have powers to lay down conditions of service as per norms of CBSE/
Government, and to approve promotion/appointment/termination of the employees as
well as to grant special increments or rewards to the staff.
2. The Society/Trust will ensure that the school is running as per the provisions of the Education

Act/affiliation norms and shall be committed to provide quality education to the children and for
this shall take necessary steps as per its needs.

കുവൈറ്റ്‌ : ഇന്ത്യന്‍ കമ്മ്യൂണിറ്റി സ്കൂള്‍ വിഷയത്തില്‍ കര്‍ശന നിലപാടുമായി വിദേശകാര്യ മന്ത്രി ഇ അഹമദ് രംഗത്ത് വന്നു. ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്ര സഭയുടെ മേല്‍നോട്ടത്തില്‍ നടക്കുന്ന സിറിയന്‍ മനുഷ്യാവകാശ സമ്മേളനത്തില്‍ പങ്കുടുക്കുവാന്‍ കുവൈറ്റില്‍ എത്തിയ മന്ത്രിക്ക് , ഇന്ത്യന്‍ എംബസ്സിയില്‍ നല്‍കിയ സ്വീകരണ യോഗത്തിലാണ് സ്കൂളിന്റെ വിഷയത്തില്‍ തന്‍റെ നിലപാട് വ്യക്തമാക്കിയത്. യുണിഫോം വിഷയത്തില്‍ രക്ഷിതാക്കളെയും, പി എ സി യെയും വിശ്വാസത്തിലിടുക്കാതെ ഉയര്‍ന്ന വില വാങ്ങുവാന്‍ തീരുമാനിച്ചത് ഒരു തരത്തിലും നീതികരിക്കാനാവില്ലെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു. സ്വീകരണ യോഗത്തില്‍ സന്നഹിതരായിരുന്ന ഇന്ത്യന്‍ കമ്മ്യൂണിറ്റി സ്കൂള്‍ ബോര്‍ഡ്‌ ചെയര്‍മാന്‍ അശോക്‌ കല്‍രയോടും , വൈസ് ചെയര്‍മാന്‍ രാജന്‍ ദാനിയല്‍ , ബോര്‍ഡ്‌ സെക്രട്ടറി വിജയന്‍ കാരയില്‍ എന്നീവരോട് യുണിഫോം വിഷയത്തില്‍ ഇത്രയും ഉയര്‍ന്ന തുക വാങ്ങുന്നതിനെ കുറിച്ച് മന്ത്രി ആരാഞ്ഞപ്പോള്‍ പുറത്തുള്ള കമ്പനിക്ക്‌ കരാര്‍ കൊടുത്തതിനാല്‍ പിറകോട്ടു പോകുവാന്‍ തടസ്സങ്ങള്‍ ഏറെയുണ്ടന്നു അവര്‍ വ്യക്തമാക്കി , വളരെ വലിയ തുക സ്കൂളിന്റെ ഫണ്ടില്‍ ഉള്ളതിനാല്‍ സബ്സിഡി നിരക്കിലോ, അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ സൌജന്യമായോ യുണിഫോം വിതരണം ചെയ്തു കൂടെ എന്ന മന്ത്രിയുടെ ചോദ്യത്തിന് വ്യക്തമായ മറുപടി നല്‍കുവാന്‍ സ്കൂള്‍ അധികൃതര്‍ തയ്യാറായില്ല. യുണിഫോം വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് മുമ്പ് നിലവില്‍ വന്നതാണെന്ന ബാലിശമായ വാദം ഉയര്‍ത്തിയകൊണ്ട് മാറ്റുവാനുള്ള സ്കൂള്‍ മാനേജ്‌മന്റ്‌ തീരുമാനം വിരോധാഭാസമാനെന്നും, അങ്ങനെയാണെങ്കില്‍ 1947 മുതലുള്ള ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ദേശീയ പതാക മാറ്റണമെന്നും നിങ്ങള്‍ പറയുമെല്ലോ എന്ന മന്ത്രിയുടെ ചോദ്യത്തിന് സ്കൂള്‍ അധികൃതര്‍ക്ക് മറുപടി ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു. ബോര്‍ഡിലെ മറ്റു അംഗങ്ങളെയും, രക്ഷിതാക്കളെയും വിശ്വാസത്തില്‍ എടുത്തതിനെ ശേഷമേ ഇത്തരം തീരുമാങ്ങളിലെക്ക് പോകാവൂ എന്ന കര്‍ശന മന്ത്രി നിര്‍ദ്ദേശം സ്കൂള്‍ മാനേജ്‌മന്റ്‌ നല്‍കി.. നിലവില്‍ ബോര്‍ഡിലേക്ക് നടക്കുന്ന നാമമാത്ര തിരഞ്ഞുടുപ്പും, നോമിനേറ്റു രീതിയും, സ്കൂളിന്റെ ഭരണഘടനയിലുമുള്ള അപാകതകളും പരിഹരിച്ചു , കുവൈറ്റിലെ പൊതുസമൂഹത്തിനു അര്‍ഹമായ പ്രാതിനിധ്യം നല്‍കി ബോര്‍ഡില്‍ മൊത്തം അഴിച്ചുപണിക്ക് സ്കൂളിലെ നിലവിലെ നേതൃത്വം തയ്യാറാകണമെന്ന് വിവധ സംഘടനാ നേതാക്കള്‍ യോഗത്തില്‍ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു.

Dear Parents,

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND DECIDE

We would like to congratulate all parents for their unity and boldness to show their disagreement with management on uniform issue from the beginning. Based on our stand the management “reduced” the price of the uniform to KD 9.500 junior classes and KD 10.500 this the preliminary victory of parents stand on uniform issue. It is clear that the board removed optional items and reached to above price. The price is higher than market price. Please do not pay uniform cost because buying from school is not mandatory as per PAC members.

All parents are respecting the UNIFORM including us that’s why our wards are going to school with the current uniform. The displayed new uniforms are not worth enough for the above said prices. The quality of uniforms is very cheaper than they claimed and PAC is claiming it is branded!!! Why do we buy this uniform? Why management force parents to pay the price in advance? Still there are options for management, they can restore current uniform and insist the parents use described color of uniform and management will not allow any color variations. Tie, belt with logo parents can purchase from the school. If the management wants to print logo they can ask parents provide shirts to print logo. All parents will agree with this suggestion.

If school is providing uniform to all 7000 students the price should be lesser than market Price. They are ordering in Bulk. Bulk order will get reduced price than a dealer price. A student need at least 3 pairs of Uniform for a week means 21,000 uniforms. For this huge quantity even there is size variations the price will be lesser than market price because the color is unique, wastage for production will be lesser than (individual who stitching) for these unique sizes. The School is not a trading organization but the persons behind this uniform change are business minded BOT members. The profit of the bulk purchase going whose pocket? Who is benefiting it?. Why they can not share the profit with the parents of the students? If every parent thinking this price is ok in future if the Management hike the fee without concern of all parents, how many parents are going to joint hand with people like us?. PAC SUCCESSFULLY OVERCOME THE PROTEST OF THE PARENTS BY AN EYE-WASHING PRICE REDUCTION. The parents did not realized that they removed many items from the list to reach this price Please check the earlier circulars for it. Why management removed optional items from the list?. Why they can not provide those things under reduced price?. If all students are going with use current uniform in new term the management can not take any kind of action such as giving TC (this is worrying all parents). Will management terminate 7000 students from this school?. If parents really want a unity please DONT PAY OR AGREE for UNIFORM CHANGE. I hope those who read this will understand the reality. Please stand united….show the management our concern is more important than their decision.

We formed a group in face book “THE ICSK PARENTS ASSOCIATION KUWAIT”. Common platform for all ICSK parents of all branches. All of us know that our volunteers collected signatures from the parents to STOP UNIFORM CHANGE but the board decided to go ahead with their unanimous decision of uniform change without the concern of Parents.

We decided to deliver a memorandum to the Ministry of Private Education, Kuwait to consider parents request to stop uniform change undersigned by all parents.

It is not PAC’s effort. During the board meeting most of the PAC’s shut their mouth in front of the board members and claiming that they are supporting parents on uniform issue. They created some forums and never opened their mind on those forums and they deleted or blocked the forum members who criticized the PAC & Board members stand on uniform issue. Now they are claiming that they forced the board to reduce the price.

NO UNIFORM CHANGE IN ICSK School Kuwait

We, the following parents of the students of Indian Community School, Kuwait are strongly opposing the change in the school uniform. 

 
 The present uniform has been in place for the last about 50 years and is very appropriate. We do not feel the need for any change.The ICSK is a community school where parents from all classes send their children to learn about the Indian values and be in touch with their roots.

 
 Over the past 50 years ICSK has done a commendable job and the alumni are proud of it, to such an extent that they want their children to study in the same school.The uniform change will add an unnecessary extra financial burden on the parents who are already fighting to fit their expenses within their limited income, while giving them the best of education and facilities.

 
Since the ICSK is not a private but a community school managed by the community appointed board members, they need to understand and go with the sentiments of the parents and reverse their decision on uniform change. 
 
ALL THOSE AGAINST THE CHANGE IN UNIFORM, PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION. 
 
We need your support. Please spread the message.
 
We propose to submit this to the appropriate forums and escalate it to the topmost authorities (Indian and Kuwaiti), in case this unilateral and unpopular decision is not reversed.
